In early 1990’s crime drama Moon and Son , Gladys Moon is a fortune teller who plies her trade along the French and English coastlines. Her son Trevor helps run the business side of things. The pair seem to find themselves in mystery wherever they go. The funny thing it’s Trevor who seems to really have the gift and is able to use it to help the police solve their cases.

Trevor is keen to see the business do well because according to his father’s will, in order to inherit his estate he has to keep both it and Gladys in a healthy financial state.

Moon and Son is considered a rare misfire for Robert Banks Stewart (creator of Bergerac and contributor to lots of classic shows during the 70’s). It only ran for one season of 13 episodes and in truth it’s generally quite entertaining with good performances from Millicent Martin and John Michie. It’s a series that is closer in spirit to Lovejoy than Bergerac.
